"Some European clients specifically requested Pelexiglass sheets for display windows, and the acrylic products we provided fully met their requirements upon testing," the company stated. It added that there is no difference between the two in terms of weather resistance and chemical corrosion resistance, and their application scenarios completely overlap.
Purchasing Pitfalls: Focus on Parameters Rather than Names, Recognise the Core Indicators of Acrylic
Despite Pelexiglass being acrylic, caution is still required when purchasing to avoid unscrupulous merchants' "concept hype." Some suppliers deliberately exaggerate the "special characteristics" of Pelexiglass to raise prices. Industry experts advise focusing on the core parameters of the material itself rather than fixating on name differences when purchasing. The core evaluation criteria include: whether the raw material is virgin PMMA (virgin acrylic offers better light transmittance, while recycled material tends to yellow), whether the light transmittance meets standards, impact resistance and heat resistance (acrylic should withstand long-term use at ≥70℃).
